Asking for direction

Why is it that we are so adamant on trying to figure out something by ourselves?
Is it because we have a preconceived notion that makes it seem justifiable?
Is it because we feel the need to be independent?
Or is it because we are afraid of asking for help?
Many people would much rather wander around aimlessly then ask for direction.
What then do we accomplish?
Does it get us any further than we were before?
Or does it plant us on common ground?
If a lost man walks in the snow does he leave behind footprints?
Will he leave large enough foot prints that can be seen?
Or will the snow cover his tracks?
Will he ever find his destination?
Or will he remain lost?
What would happen if he suddenly started walking in another direction?
Would he be heading towards what is right?
Who's there to guide him?
Himself?
At the end of day though, he can only ask himself one question.
Am I there yet?
