5 year Anniversary

On December 22, 2010 I created my blog. Today marks the 5 year anniversary of my blogs creation. When I first started out my blog, I had little to no idea with what I was going to do with it. I thought that it was just going to be a creative outlet in which I could freely express my ideas. I never thought that it was going to garner so much attention over the years. It was not until my sophomore year of college that I realized that my blog could be something more.  I realized that my words could become something more. I could use my words to inspire and motivate others into thinking differently.  Thus I found the meaning of my blog and today I continue upon this path. I would like to thank all of my blog readers and those who have supported me over the years. If it weren't for you, my blog might not have been successful as it has been.

My blog is going to take a slight shift for the next few months, as I will be living in London, England. I am therefore going to be focusing on travel writing. I will be writing an extensive series entitled "When in Europe the UK and Beyond" which I will detail my adventures and experiences.

Here's to another 5 years and may I continue to inspire and motivate others for years to come!

Happiest Moment

This moment is so simple, yet it is filled with brilliance.
It feels so short, yet in comparison time never seems to pass it by.
I want this moment to last forever.
I don't want to let it go.
The day seems so perfect.
I wouldn't ever want to change a thing.
Yet this life of mine seems far too short to absorb this moment.
However, in the time that I do have I can't help but smile....
Because in this moment I am at my happiest.
I smile at the small things in life.
I smile at the person walking across the street.
I smile at the leaf that is resting upon the ground.
This life of mine there is so much do, yet I can't do it all.
But in this moment, everything is perfect.
I wouldn't want to change a thing.
I don't want to let it go.

College Survial Guide: Making it Through Finals in One Piece

Anxiety, stress, lack of sleep is the best ways to describe how most college students are feeling about their upcoming finals.
There is so much work to do, from last minute papers, to going all out to trying to secure that final grade we've been working for all semester.
A bit of advice I have come to realize is that you are going to need to take breaks between studying for your finals.
It is the best way to dim the stress between studying.
During these breaks I suggest that you do something that you are passionate about.
It hobby or it could be something as simple as watching a movie that you love.
Now I know what you are probably thinking.... that finals are more important and that the more time you spend studying the better off you will do.
While it is true that the more you prepare for them the better grade you will receive, by studying you are causing mental wear and tear on your body.
As a result this can cause stress, anxiety and for some people a lack of sleep.
By taking a simple hour out of your day to do something that makes you happy, will not only give your mind some much needed rest, but it'll also allow you to decompress, even if it is only for a brief period of time.
