The Word is the Saber

Why is that the word is such a powerful force?
Whether it is spoken or written the word has the power of influence.
A single word is a collection of characters that we identify to have a meaning.
Yet over time a single word can become construed in an instant.
Yet the word is still constructed with the same characters, but means something entirely different.
Is a good thing for words to change their meaning, or is it a negative?
A collection of words however, has just as much power.
Although, it would appear that society focuses more so on the single word.
For unlike a phrase, a single word can haunt the mind longer and cause those affected to dwell upon its meaning.
What gives a single word more power over a phrase?
The speaker gives the word its power and how they say it will affect how one perceives that word.

Philospher or Hercules?

I use to read to you the words of a page that were meaningful to me.
As these words was my way of taking to you; For I knew of no other way to communicate clearly to you.
I would sit there and wonder if you ever understood what I was trying to say.
I was a philosopher in my mind, but to you I do not know what I was.
Was I nothing more than an annoyance? ; Or was I leaving you in awe?
With time I reflected on this very idea, much like how the sunsets and reflects upon the water. Yet like a stone thrown into the water this image becomes distilled every time I tried to make it out.
Yet time and time again I remain idle, letting only the wind sway me side to side, as I sit upon a stone watching as the days pass me by.

I'll Be Your #2

I am long and I can be sharpened.
While I may seem like any ordinary instrument, I wield an enormous amount of power.
A power of choice lays in the beholders hands.
I can be used to write words of love or hatred, happiness or sadness.
I can be used to craft images that provoke an array of emotions.
No matter what I am needed for, I'll be your muse.
